Carolinas Minority Supplier Development Council

Provides certification services to minority firms that wish to do business with major corporations, public sector institutions and other private sector organizations. Also works to expand business opportunities to and establish business relationships for minority-owned firms .

North Carolina MWBE Coordinators Network

A statewide organization of municipal, state, Federal, private sector, public sector and non profit small/minority/women-owned programs and resources. Provides contacts for localized professional service, procurement and construction markets.

NC Office for Historically Underutilized Businesses (HUB)
North Carolina Department of Administration

Advocates for minority, women and disabled-owned businesses in their efforts to conduct business with the State of North Carolina. Assists firms in becoming certified as historically underutilized businesses.

US Small Business Administration - Business 8(a) Certification

Program is designed to assist firms owned and controlled by economically and socially disadvantaged individuals enter the economic mainstream. Firms are entered into a structured 9year developmental process and benefit from developmental opportunities, in the form of sole-source and limited competition Federal contracts, provided by Federal agencies.

HUBZone Certification

Provides economic development and employment growth in distressed areas by providing easier access to Federal Contracting Opportunities.

Service Disabled Veteran Small Business

Presently self-certification. Eligible persons are those who service in the active armed forces services and who were discharged or released under conditions other than dishonorable, and who disability was incurred or aggrevated in the line of duty during active armed forces service.

National Industrial and Classification Code (NAICS)

Official standard used by the Federal Government for classifying business product and services.  It is a requisite you need to do business  with the federal government. 

Duns & Bradstreet, Inc

Apply here to get your DUNS Number.  A D&B D-U-N-S® Number is a unique nine-digit sequence recognized as the universal standard for identifying businesses. A DUNS Number enhances the credibility of your business in the marketplace, and enables potential customers, suppliers and lenders to easily identify and learn about your company.  It is also a prerequisite for doing business with the Federal government. 

Central Contractor Registry

Create your business profile on this registry, also required by the federal government to do business. 

Online Representation and Certifications Application (ORCA)

Self-certify as appropriate-  small business; woman-owned business;;veteran-owned; or service disabled-owned small business. 

US Small Business Administration

Apply for formal certifications of 8(a) Small Business Development Program Socially Disadvantaged Business or HUBZONE Business ( Historically Underutilized Business Zone). 

GSA Multiple Award Schedule (MAS) Program

The MAS allows the Federal Government to contract with multiple vendors for indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contracts. To qualify, vendors must provide fair commercial pricing and complete appropriate solicitation.  The website will help you search and identify the solicitation for your product/services and submit paperwork to the listed acquisition center.
